By now, you’ve probably heard about the FTC lawsuit against Amazon. This lawsuit could not only break up Amazon but it could set the precedent as to how big tech monopolies will be treated moving forward. But, despite the stakes at play, Amazon likely isn’t all too worried about this lawsuit for a few reasons. First of all, Amazon doesn’t even need to prove that they’re not a monopoly. Even a small legal technicality could be enough to throw out the entire case as it was for Microsoft with their own anti-trust lawsuit in the early 2000s. But, even if Amazon does somehow get broken up, it’s not all that bad. In fact, history has shown that monopolies actually just tend to get stronger and reunite after breaks as was the case with Standard Oil and AT&T. Not to mention, Amazon is gonna come into this lawsuit with an extremely powerful and skilled set of lawyers. This video explains why Amazon doesn’t need to worry about the FTC lawsuit and why it could actually play out in their favor.
