What should your margin be in ecommerce?

When you're pricing your products, margin matters.

In alcohol or furniture, you might be running of a 40% Gross Profit.

Fashion you want 75%.

jewellery you want 85%.

Wherever your margin lands, you then adjust your operating expenses to meet your net profit target.

For example. Your gross profit is 60, and you want a 30% net profit, then you have 30% left to play with on your opex.

Set your target net profit. Subtract it from your gross profit, and that's what's left to run your business.

Spend what your business needs to achieve your goals, not what your coach tells you that you should be spending.
