ACL, in partnership with the State of California Community Access Division, the San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging Services, and the Marin Center for Independent Living hosted a webinar highlighting successful aging and disability collaborative initiatives. The examples provided may be potentially replicable in your state.
There are many similarities in the services and supports older adults and people with disabilities need to live independently as they age, and increasingly, the aging and disability networks are working together at state and local levels to better support people aging with and into disabilities. Presenters will discuss how grassroots advocacy efforts have impacted state policies, programs, and initiatives, including the California Master Plan on Aging.
Presenters
- Ana Acton, Deputy Director of Independent Living and Community Access Division, California Department of Rehabilitation
- Eli Gelardin, Executive Director, Marin Center for Independent Living
- Cindy Kauffman, Deputy Director of Community Services, San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging Services
Please note, due to technical difficulties the final two presentations were cut short. Please refer to the PowerPoint for full presentations.
