Web designer turned data thief from Faridabad, arrested for creating and selling 70 crore database

Vinay Bhardwaj, a former web designer based in Faridabad, was arrested by Cyberabad Police. Bhardwaj was arrested for creating and selling 70 crore confidential citizen databases on the cloud. Vinay Bhardwaj's foray into cybercrime began when he designed a web page for a textile businessman from Gujarat, who proposed to collect and sell data online for huge profits. This experience fueled his criminal tendencies, and he subsequently began amassing large amounts of data. The cops said that many individuals are involved in this illicit business, with some running their own websites to sell sensitive information. Cyberabad police were shocked to find that an e-commerce business operator was maintaining customer data under 77 different categories, and these were leaked. The Faridabad-based cartel run by Bhardwaj was an unregistered set-up, according to cops. Police are searching for two individuals from Gujarat who sold most of the 70 crore data to Bhardwaj. Capturing the duo is essential in determining how the leak of personal information occurred.
