Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Pinky Cole discloses how she became a successful entrepreneur in the vegan food industry by leading with compassion and empathy. Aisha “Pinky” Cole is the founder of one of the most prolific vegan restaurants in the nation that has galvanized vegan eating around the country. Born in East Baltimore, Maryland, Pinky is of Jamaican descent and the owner of the massively thriving plant-based business known as Slutty Vegan. Slutty Vegan was created while she was relaxing one evening in her bedroom craving for vegan junk food. She eagerly went into her kitchen and created the delicious non-meat masterpieces that are now always in high demand. What was originally a plan for a ghost restaurant beautifully exploded into a national phenomenon. She reminds everyone whom she encounters that nothing beats a failure but a try. As a restaurateur and philanthropist, Cole pours into her staff, community, and the students at Clark Atlanta University. Her charisma and GRIT have afforded her to receive several awards and also become a staple in the Atlanta restaurant community by increasing the need for healthy clean eating. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
