▼Synopsis
This is regarding the Shimizu Port at the end of the Edo period. Chogoro (Teruhiko Saigo), the young master of a rice shop who received swordsmanship instruction from Tetsusaburo Yamaoka (Go Kato), along with Ishimatsu Mori (Isao Bitou) and Onikichi Okeya (Baku Owada), drives out the lawless Kanbei Onigawara (Shoubun Inoue) family from Shimizu. However, Kanbei returns with his older brother, Kitsu An Takei (Tatsuro Endo) and Katsuzo Kurokoma (Hiroshi Nawa), and confronts Chogoro. Appearing with them, led by Fumikichi Ando (Tadashi Kato) who holds a jutte, is Eigorō Ōmaeda (Chiezo Kataoka), the boss. Kanbei and his men reluctantly agreed to mediate, but they convinced Guntaidō Kurose (Shinji Takano), the deputy magistrate, and imprisoned Chogoro.
Broadcast on Fuji TV's ""Jidaigeki Special"" frame in 1981. Produced by Office Henmi, led by producer Minoru Itsuki, who was involved in the production of TBS National Theater's ""Mito Komon,"" ""Ooka Echizen,"" and ""Edo wo Kiru,"" from the original script by Hamura Shouko, to director Tetsuya Yamanouchi, Saigo Teruhiko, Kato Gou, Kataoka Chiezo, Matsuyama Eitaro, Tani Kanichi, and villains such as Endo Tatsuo, Nawa Hiroshi, and Takano Shinji, as well as narrator Akutagwa Takayuki, the familiar faces of the National Theater are all present. It is a true good-versus-evil story for the living room, with scenes that fans will smile at, such as the appearances of Kataoka Chiezo and Kato Gou. It is truly enjoyable to see the family being formed, such as the depiction of Dai-sei and Sho-sei before they become the Jirocho family.
