The boss of Ryanair won’t be happy about this.
The EU Commission has already agreed to French plans to protect Air France.
Remember the boss of Dublin based Ryanair, who once said in the lead up to the 2016 EU Referendum:
“As the UK’s largest airline, Ryanair is absolutely clear that the UK economy and its future growth prospects are stronger as a member of the European Union than they are outside of the EU.”
But he did admit that the EU needed reform - although as far as he was concerned, the best way for us to do that - was for the UK to lead from within and not be a paying rule taker. Something that's not now going to happen - if our PM sticks to his word.
And do you remember O'Leary throwing his toy planes out of the cot in 2018, saying that he’ll ground his planes unless we re-think Brexit.
And he told a group of airline bosses in a talk in Brussels that:
"I think it's in our interests - not for a long period of time - that the aircraft are grounded.
"It's only when you get to that stage where you're going to persuade the average British voter that you were lied to in the entire Brexit debate.
"You were promised you could leave the EU and everything would stay the same. The reality is you can leave the EU, yes that's your choice, but everything will fundamentally change.”
