Since the end of World War II, Southeast Asian countries have achieved economic development while forming ASEAN. On the other hand, as The State of Southeast Asia report indicates, there has been strong concern in ASEAN in recent years about political and economic instability and the situation of being at the mercy of the major powers' disputes.
