The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) was made available to the people in Bengaluru from September 30 as part of its beta testing process. This open network protocol is being referred to as the “UPI moment” for e-commerce in the corridors of power in New Delhi. Why? Is it really that powerful, disruptive, and as frictionless as UPI? How can it help small retailers? How can it reduce the dominance on e-commerce giants?
