The project aims to support law enforcement in detecting illegal wildlife trade and trafficking online, and implicate the private sector in the process through AI and trend data. The project was launched in 2018 and includes over 36 companies (Google, Facebook, eBay, Rakuten...) and NGOs as members. By November 2020, the companies of the coalition will have incorporated a Covid-19 response into all prohibition policies for wildlife and misinformation, and key social media partners will begin to educate followers about ways in which to prevent future disease transmission from wildlife trade. Since 2018, over 3.3 million listings of prohibited wildlife have been removed or blocked.
