Solar buses are transforming Maiduguri's air. Mustapha Gajibo's vision has been something of a sunny transformation for the city of Maiduguri. The buses that his company Phoenix Renewables builds are powered by solar energy - something Nigeria has in plenty. His model of refitting gasoline-powered buses with electric battery packs that get their energy from the sun seems to be working wonders in the town. Could this become a model other cities around the world can adopt?
