At least four European countries on Tuesday announced that plans to evacuate their citizens are underway in Niger, days after President Mohamed Bazoum was overthrown by members of his presidential guard.

An advisor to the deposed president has been speaking to Al Jazeera. Iro Sani says the ousted government would support military intervention by ECOWAS to reinstate the President, but denies allegations they are discussing military action with France.
