Abstract:
Consumers are increasingly expecting highly engaging experiences. This is especially true in ecommerce, where there is an ever-increasing shift from physical to digital retail, and consequently an outsized demand for engaging immersive experiences that close the gap between offline and online shopping. eBay is investing in new technologies to unlock new ways of engaging with the billions of products sold on our platform. As a two-sided marketplace, we have the unique challenge of needing to enable our sellers to build these experiences for their buyers. Due to their flexibility, generalizability and adaptiveness, we are focusing on computer-vision-enabled immersive experiences to accomplish this task. eBay’s Chief AI Officer, Nitzan Mekel-Bobrov, will discuss how eBay is using computer vision at a massive scale to transform shopping on its marketplace.
