1) Do not use the first supplier that you contact

The mistake that most new e-commerce business owners make when they first start that you come as business is that they contact the first supplier and use that supplier straight away, I need to remember that there are multiple different suppliers out there that may be able to offer you a better price and service is very important to make sure that you contact as many suppliers as possible, for example if you're looking to find a supplier in Alibaba it may be in your best interest to reach out to every single supplier on alibaba.com that sells the product that you want to sell on your e-commerce store before deciding on using a supplier.

2) Check the invoice for the supplier that you are going to use:

Another mistake that a lot of people make when they first start their e-commerce store, is that once they started using a supplier that they found either locally or in China, they don't look at the invoice to make sure that the prices are accurate. It's very important that if you are looking to import products from your supplier you need to make sure that you check the invoice every single time to make sure that is correct otherwise you could be losing money over a period of many many years.

3) do not overpay yourself at the start

It is very important that you know, when you're building your e-commerce business you need to put as much money back into the business as possible so that you're going to be able to grow your e-commerce store as well as build up the revenues to a high amount, one of the money traps that you need to know is that if you pay yourself in the early days you are taking money away from the growth of your business.

4) Do not forget about taxes

Most e-commerce business owners do not think about taxes when they first start the e-commerce store, this is one of the biggest money traps because taxes is one of the biggest expenses that you need to be aware of when you start your e-commerce business, and if you don't optimise your business for taxes it's going to effectively slow the growth down of your business. He is very important to watch out for this money trap when building that you can have business so that you can retain more money in your business so you're gonna be able to grow and scale your e-commerce store.
