In order to create your very first eCommerce website using WordPress using a FREE theme follow the steps below:
???? Part 1: Get a domain and web hosting for your eCommerce website
Step 1: Choose a domain name for your site
Enter the name and check if it is available or not, if it is not, continue with the purchase process because you can add the domain later as well.
Step 2: Get Hosting
Go through the method mentioned in the video to get the cheapest deal possible using Bluehost.
???? Part 2: Create your eCommerce website using WordPress
Step 1: Log in to your WordPress dashboard
In order to log in, type your site’s address followed by "/wp-admin" or “/login”
And enter the login details.
Step 2: Install the Astra theme for your site
Go to WordPress Dashboard ➜ hover over Appearance ➜ Themes ➜ Add New Theme
Find the WordPress called Astra, install and activate it.
To choose a template, click on 'Get Started'
Choose a page builder, which in this case I use Elementor to help you edit your site.
Choose the desired eCommerce template and import it.
???? Part 3: Editing and changing the pages of the site
Step 1: Change the content of any page
Go to any page that you would like to change
make sure you are logged into your WordPress account.
Then click on edit with Elementor
when you are in editing mode, make the desired changes and then click update to apply the changes.
???? Part 4: Setup your E-commerce site
Step 1: Add a new product.
Go to products ➜ add new’
And then put in the product details
And then provide an image of the product and set the price,
make sure to publish the changes to apply the changes.
???? Part 5: Setup Payment Method For Your eCommerce Site
Step 1: Setup Payment Method.
Go to stripe.com and Create a Stripe Account
To connect your stripe account with your website,
Install the Stripe plugin, and click on connect to connect the WordPress plugin to your Stripe account(make sure you are logged into your Stripe account), and change the mode from test to live.
???? Part 6: How to customize your eCommerce Website?
In order to customize your site click on customize and then from the left menu choose what you would like to change. Apply the changes like changing the logo, footer, and text, and then click on Apply to apply the changes.
