A study of more than 3,000 UK businesses by Alibaba Group, in partnership with the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT), has found that a quarter of SMEs do not currently export.
However, the same research finds that 82% of exporters say their international trade fuels innovation, with 81% saying exporting has made their business stronger.
In this free, one-hour webinar, trade and customs experts at IOE&IT and Alibaba Group gave an overview of the research findings, the ways that digitalisation can help boost trade and explore some of the barriers businesses face when starting to export and how successful exporters are overcoming these.
The webinar covered:
- Findings from Alibaba Group’s ‘Export Opportunity Report’
- What the perceived barriers to export are
- How businesses can use digital technologies and tools to overcome barriers
- How businesses can succeed in the UK’s major growth export markets
- The increasing importance of online marketplaces
