What is software engineering?
It’s a branch of computer science that focuses on designing and developing computer systems and application software.
Software engineers are experts in programming languages, software development, and operating systems and use engineering principles to create software.
Future of programming
Programming is a job that requires abstract thinking, logical thinking, and attention to detail. You want to retrain yourself on skills that align with your interests and passions. In the age of emerging technology: artificial intelligence, big data, virtual reality, and robotics, there are plenty of jobs that will require technical understanding but at the same time involve more human skills. These jobs won’t be replaced by technology any time soon. Coding won’t just be relevant in the coming ten years, it will be more relevant than it is now.
What is Problem-solving in Software Engineering?
Problem-solving is the process of employing theories and research to find answers to a problem domain while testing multiple ideas and implementing best practices to get the desired result in software development. Utilising logic and imagination to find problems and find software solutions is another aspect of problem-solving.
Why should you be good at problem-solving?
In order to come up with brilliant answers to problems that happen during software development, problem-solving genius is a necessity.
What is critical thinking?
Critical thinking is the mental process of objectively analysing information, arguments, or problems to form a judgement, draw conclusions, and make decisions based on reason and evidence.
What is a tech industry?
The tech industry refers to the businesses and organisations involved in the development, design, manufacturing, and distribution of technology products and services, including computer hardware, software, telecommunications equipment, and e-commerce services. It is a rapidly growing and constantly evolving sector with a significant impact on the global economy.
What are coding fundamentals?
Coding fundamentals refer to the basic principles and concepts that are essential to understanding and writing computer programs. These include topics such as data types, variables, control structures, functions, algorithms, and data structures. A solid understanding of coding fundamentals is crucial for building more complex programs and solving programming challenges.
