I hope all of you will be good.
Welcome to the eighth video of Google Ads Tutorials Series, in this video, I will be going to tell you about the Negative Keyword in Google Ads. If you want to create a successful ad campaign in Google Ads then you must know about this.
Many people ignore the negative keywords but it is an important thing on which you have to pay attention because it can create a huge difference in the performance of your ad campaigns.
Negative keywords are a method of preventing your ad from showing to people who search for or browse content related to those words.
Negative keywords give you the opportunity to ensure that your ads only reach the best potential audience.
For an example create a scenario - If you have an e-commerce website and you are selling Expensive Leather Bags then you want that your ad must not appear for a person who is searching for “Cheap Leather Bags”. So, you must add “Cheap Leather Bags” as a negative keyword in your campaign/ad group.
There are three types of Negative Keyword match type-
1. Broad match
2. Phrase match
3. Exact match
A negative broad-matched keyword, as Google defines it is, “a keyword setting that allows you to exclude your ad for searches where every word, in any order, of your keyword phrase appears in the search.”
The negative phrase-match keyword is less restrictive for a search query.
Negative exact match keywords exist solely for you to eliminate specific search queries.
You can add negative keywords at the campaign level and ad group level. I suggest you add at least three negative keywords per campaign.
I also give you an example of the negative keyword “Red Bike” so that you can understand it deeply.
