The U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce will hear from former Facebook employee Frances Haugen in a hearing that will follow votes on four bills aimed at big tech, particularly alleged harms caused by algorithms. Haugen testified at a Senate hearing in October and discussed how the company was aware of the potential harm it was doing to younger users while taking no meaningful action to address it.
