Facebook Launches Accelerator Program For Ecommerce Startups

Social media giant Facebook has launched a 12- week new accelerator program called Facebook Accelerator: Commerce. Applications are invited from the startups of Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) who are developing a solution to expand ecommerce.The accelerator program requires the startups to be a B2B or B2B2C with Seed to Series A maturity. The company holds one or two similar accelerator programs each year. In total, the company has launched accelerator programs in 11 countries to date.

The program will boost initiatives utilising new technologies, including AI-powered catalog management and AR-based shopping experiences. The Accelerator will select 30 startups from EMEA and 30 from Latin America, the second commerce accelerator was launched in Latin America. The program that will be held virtually, intends to provide training, mentorship, and support to the selected startups.
