In the interest of security, the Indian Army banned several popular apps including Facebook and Instagram .

The Indian Army has banned 69 apps for security reasons. Of these 69 apps, 59 are Chinese apps previously banned by the central government. The 69 banned apps include popular social media and messaging and gaming apps like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, WeChat, Hike, True Caller, Pubzi, Like, Tinder. There are also various e-commerce websites and apps.
