As a child, Sixto Cancel was in the foster care system and saw first hand that its priority is to protect kids from abuse — not to help them thrive. He even had to prove he was being abused with recordings to get back into the system at age 15. As an adult, Cancel founded Think of Us, which researches strategies to improve child welfare.
