The Important Role of Social Media In conveying Creative and Innovative Movement of Gen Z

Generation millennial or Z is a bonus of demography that that belong to Indonesia in future. This generation was born in era where the most sophisticated technology of internet massively used, especially by using social media as a platform of communication and socialization.
We know social media and generation millennial right now became unity that cannot be separated. So that’s why I am standing in front of you all to deliver my speech en title “The Important Role of Social Media In conveying Creative and Innovative Movement of Gen Z”.

• I AM FROM PUBLIC VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 1 DOKO BLITAR.

The ERA of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) demands all creative and innovative elements. This was illustrated in the visit of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the United States some time ago. President Jokowi visited the Twitter Headquarter headquarters in San Francisco, United States (US), also visited and had a serious conversation with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The president also came to the Googleplex which is the central complex where the tech giant Google is located. Why did the president take the time to visit the headquarters of this information technology giant on the sidelines of his busy participation in the ASEAN-US Summit (Summit) because it is important at this time to advance the trade system with the concept of e-commerce in Indonesia. Indeed, we have heard that the president has a special target to create 1,000 digital generation technopreneurs in the country. This is because without the digital generation, Indonesia will not be able to catch up with other countries in the field of information technology (IT). If you look at several neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Singapore, the use of technology has grown rapidly.
We all know that this millennial generation was born when the internet started to become epidemic. This makes generation Z touted as the digital generation. This generation can easily adopt trends that exist in the world, because internet access is very easy. Moreover, after Facebook and Twitter, social media youtube like Instagram and Snapchat are now increasingly loved by teenagers.
The existence of teenagers in cyberspace itself also varies. According to information technology (IT) expert, Nukman Luthfie, divides them into two categories: Creators and Conversationalists.
A creator is a person who creates certain content on a blog, website or YouTube account. They have a YouTube account not only for viewing videos. They can show off their works.
Conversationalists, on the other hand, are people who prefer to use Facebook, Path, and Twitter to chat. However, there are some users who work, by using kultwit [lecturing on Twitter], writing poetry, writing on Facebook notes, they are indeed creators. But mostly a conversationalist,
We know that generation Z is in the creator category, because currently there area lot of space that can be used to be creative, like Instagram. What's more, technological factors such as smart phones can make it easier for Generation Z to make photos, videos and edits. Therefore, this Z generation no longer wants to be an employee. They tend to be entrepreneurs or self-employees. They create a lot of creative things. "
Indeed, in fact, nowadays there are many teenagers who are creative in making their social media content interesting. Whether it's makeup tutorials, cooking, making crafts, presenting photography results, or showing off the latest songs. All content uploaded to social media means spreading the work to the public space. That's why there are things that cannot be violated, namely social ethics. Although social ethics can be debated. If ethics are violated, the consequences must be accepted, such as scorn and ostracized. Another thing that cannot be violated is the law. Playing social media must also understand laws, such as pornography and ITE laws.
Therefore, as the nation's next generation, the millennial generation in Indonesia must not lose in competition with young people from other countries. High education alone is not enough, young Indonesians today must be equipped with various experiences and good soft skills. So, being a creative, active, and innovative person must be possessed in the souls of young people. That is the main requirement for millennial to be able to compete and face various challenges in an increasingly dynamic world.
