Running an ecommerce store could as cheap as you want or expensive as you want. But everything comes at a cost. Monetary or not.

Squarespace offers the Commerce plan for a reason (several reasons). That’s what you need to run a decent ecomm store now a days.

To basicaly have the same functions in Wordpress, you would need to spend a lot less than that.

So Wordpress wins.
