The Chinese e-commerce market has been growing quickly due to an increase in online shoppers, smartphone usage, and popular online shopping platforms like JD.com, Pinduoduo and Alibaba. According to statistics, more than half of online purchases in China are made via mobile devices and the market is expected to reach 8 trillion yuan (Over 1 trillion dollars) by the end of the year. Another driving force for this increase is the ease of digital payments. Payment methods like Alipay, crytocurrencies and WeChatPay are becoming increasingly prevalent, making them the preferred choice for many online shoppers. They account for 70 percent of the growth and valued at 5.3 yuan (Over 700 billion dollars). China’s ecommerce industry is currently the largest in the world.
