Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur

I got a question this week from someone who wants to know if they have what it takes to be an entrepreneur, and after hearing his story… he’s going to have a rough ride.

And I don’t mean that in a rude way - I believe anybody can be an entrepreneur, however, it’s going to be an uphill battle for some people.

If you want to know if you were BORN TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR… Maybe you’re in a job right now working for somebody else and you want to know if the entrepreneurial life is for you, or you’ve already built a business, and now you’re questioning if going into business was the right decision or if you should have just started working for somebody else’s company…

Here’s a simple test:

THINK ABOUT YOUR TRACK RECORD. Did you always try to make money when you were a kid?

For example, I never even told my parents when I became a caddy at the local country club where I was growing up… until after I started making money.

I also didn’t tell my parents when I took a job at a pizza place passing out flyers to make money, or about all the other things I did to make money when I was a kid.

And I have a handful of friends who I get together with for dinner almost every month, and every one of them has built MULTIPLE LARGE COMPANIES - some in the eight-figure range, some in the nine-figure range.
And every single one of them has the same kind of story, where they’ve been hustling to make money, even when they were kids.

Hustling, meaning they were doing it for themselves, not just to make someone else proud. THE DRIVE IS INBRED IN THEM.

If you have always strived to make money on your own, then you were probably born to be an entrepreneur, and that is the only place that you will be truly happy.

However, if you’ve always had ideas but never acted on them as it relates to business, then you’ll probably be HAPPIEST AND MOST SUCCESSFUL, and MAKE THE MOST MONEY, and lead the most FULFILLING LIFE, as an employee in somebody else’s company.

Neither is better than the other but trying to fit into the wrong lifestyle is a guaranteed way to live a frustrating and unhappy life.

So, which one are you?

Are you an entrepreneur who’s growing a business and a team, and wakes up in the middle of the night excited with ideas on how to grow faster and leaner?

Or are you a rock star employee who loves being part of a growing organization.
