Hi friends, I hope you're day is going well. Today I wanted to take you with me as I work on the farm and in the house. I made some delicious, inexpensive split pea soup and baking powder biscuits which is delicious, planted 10 trays of seeds and did some upgrades to the greenhouse. I hope you enjoy coming along with me.
Baking Powder Biscuits
1 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening*
3/4 cup buttermilk **
1/3 cup grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 450° F.
Combine dry ingredients and whisk to blend well. Add cheese and combine.
Cut in shortening until the texture is like oatmeal. Add buttermilk, stirring with a fork
just until moistened.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead three or four times and flatten into
1-inch thick oval.
Using a round biscuit cutter, or the top of a small glass, floured, cut out rounds and place two inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes until lightly browned.
Thanks for watching!
