As a digital marketing professional in Singapore, I'll be discussing three main types of online businesses in Singapore, that is Shopify and Amazon, as well as email marketing. I'll be discussing the business model. How it works and is it legitimate? and the three lessons you can take away from this analysis.

Shopify how it works is you source your products to market in AliExpress, buy Facebook ads, mark up the price, and market the product to the people in the US. The product goes directly from China to the US. You just do the marketing and you do that via Facebook ads.

The second online business model is Amazon. How it works is that you get a product and list it on Amazon. You source your products to websites like Alibaba. Amazon will handle shipping and handling inventory management. Your key role again is in marketing by getting a lot of good reviews for your products so that Amazon will rank you high and promote your product.

The third and final business model is email marketing. You build up a list of people of emails which is your database. And once you have this database, you will promote products to them and earn affiliate commission from that. Typically, you'll be promoting info products, things like eBooks, video courses. and once again, you'll be targeting the US market.

So it comes back to the original question. are these businesses legitimate? The answer is that the business models are very sound, and many established businesses like MoneySmart are also based on these business models.

There are three considerations that you have to bear in mind. Because you don't have to manufacture your own products, the first is essential marketing like differentiating your products, writing the right message, and understanding your target audience Second is there's a lot you can reference from the online businesses and you can take away and apply to your own business. Thirdly, there is no perfect business model out there because the market is efficient. Anytime there is a market gap, everyone will go in it and then the competition will swell up and then there's no more market get any more. So when you decide which business model to pursue besides the market opportunity and obviously the payout, you have to consider your own values, passion, talent.
