Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said Saturday that the Covid-19 vaccine will be provided free of cost across the country. With the goal of gearing up the country for the roll out of the vaccine, a dry run began in India on 2 January. Vardhan visited GTB Hospital in Delhi on Saturday to review the dry run. “Feedbacks received after the dry run in 4 states were included in guidelines for vaccination and today's dry run in all states/UTs is being conducted as per new guidelines. Except for giving actual vaccine, every procedure is being followed during the drill,” he added. The health minister also appealed to the people of India to not pay heed to unsubstantiated rumours about the vaccine.
