British Chamber of Commerce Chairman Chris Nelson is confident amendments to the retail trade liberalisation act which lowers the required paid-up capital investment from foreign retailers, will still be passed despite a looming leadership change at the house of representatives in Mid-October. Nelson is also optimistic the Philippines will be able to notch a Free trade Agreement with the UK soon — ahead of the end of Brexit’s transition period this year.
