On Oct. 20, 2021, more than 80 AAPI community members, advocacy leaders, and law enforcement representatives gathered at Crane Community Center and on Zoom for a town hall meeting to discuss safety for Asian American communities in Philadelphia. Live language interpretation in Chinese, Khmer, Korean, Indonesian, and Vietnamese was provided for virtual attendees.

Moderated by John Chin, Executive Director of PCDC, community members heard from guest speakers Jennifer Arbittier Williams, Acting United States Attorney for Eastern District of Pennsylvania and Commissioner Danielle Outlaw of the Philadelphia Police Department. Representatives from law enforcement agencies provided resources on how to report hate and violent crimes, the importance of reporting crimes, and what the process for a case looks like on a federal level.

Speakers included:
Jeanine Linehan, Assistant United States Attorney and Chief of the Violent Crime Unit

Jeanette Kang, Assistant US Attorney

Anthony Carissimi, Assistant US Attorney

Sarah O’Reilly, Special Agent ATF

Richard Antonini, Special Agent ATF

Eric Gibson; Deputy Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney, Corruption & Civil Rights

C.J. Jackson, Special Agent of FBI Philadelphia
