Starting a business is fun and exhilarating, but it also poses challenges and comes with risk. There are many factors to consider that a budding entrepreneur should be aware of, and fully take into account, prior to taking the leap. In this talk, Dr. George Davis, Founder and CEO of Emergent Space Technologies, Inc., discusses his experience in starting his company and growing and maintaining it for over 20 years. He discusses his origin story, discusses twenty years of doing business with civil, military and commercial space customers, and comments on recent transformations in industry ushered in by the New Space era. He concludes with practical lessons learned for those students who similarly dream of owning their own business one day.
