Amazon is reportedly in talks to buy a $2 billion stake in Indian mobile operator Bharti Airtel. Reuters said that would mean Amazon holding a 5% stake in India's number three telco. Amazon sees India as a crucial growth market, and has committed $6.5 billion in investments to expand its e-commerce footprint. A deal with Amazon would give Bharti Airtel a boost as it competes against number one player Reliance Jio, which has raised more than $10 billion from global investors, including Facebook.
