Taobao.com offers customer to customer services where individuals or businesses can sell items on the site. It is similar to ebay where it acts as an intermediary between buyers and sellers. It does not warehouse
products and deliver them like Amazon does. It is the 8th most visited website in the world. Amazon is ranked 11th. Tmall.com offers B to C services. Only the brand owner or authorized dealer can operate a Tmall store. For example: Tencent may use Tmall to sell it products. libaba.com is one of the world's largest B2B marketplaces. Any company can sell on Alibaba.com not just chinese companies. Most transactions are processed using Alipay which is similar to paypal. In 2019 alipay processed $17 trillion USD in transactions while paypal only processed $172bn.

- BABA is one of the largest, most valuable & most identifiable brands in the world. It has 1.2bn active users on its different platforms.

- The company is headquartered in Hangzhou (Hong-Joe), China and was founded in 1999
