The newest African nations to announce intentions for tax collection from digital and e-commerce firms like Netflix, Google, YouTube, and Amazon are Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Kenya, and Uganda. Following the pandemic, cash-strapped African governments made a much-decried attempt to tax digital payments in order to increase revenue collection. The Consumer Goods and Retail Sector has experienced significant disruption as a result of the pandemic-fueled rise of the digital economy and the unrelenting demand for online retail products across Africa.
