What does 1rst, 2nd, 3rd degree connection mean on Linkedin?
They describe on you are connected to someone on Linkedin
1) First Degree Connections
They are the people you are already connected with because you send them a connection request and they accepted or the reverse. You can send them direct messages on Linkedin and see their contact info.
2) Second Degree Connections
They are the connections of your 1st degree connections. You can't see their contact info and you can send them direct messages. You need to send them a connection request first
3) Third Degree Connection
They are all the rest of linkedin members that are not 1st or 2nd degree connection. You can't see their contact info nor send them linkedin direct message.
To contact 2nd and 3rd degree connection you can use inmails. You can even send inmails for free to Open Profiles.
