Whenever we have to develop an E-Commerce website that is easy to use and customizable, we often pick WooCommerce. WooCommerce is great and there are tons of videos that will tell you the same that is why, In this video, we will talk about reasons why I might not pick WooCommerce for my next big E-Commerce project.

Recently I was working on a big project where we were using WordPress + WooCommerce as our backend in Headless architecture where the frontend is built on NextJS. Now it sounds very cool and interesting and it was really a fun experience building the product but during the development process we faced a lot of challenges and I will be addressing them in this video.

By no means, I am saying that WooCommerce is bad..... Video is all about things I faced and you might face too...

- Variation Visibility [Plugins are available but there is no support for headless]
- Delivery Cost Estimation [Plugins are available but no native support]
- Wishlist Support for Headless [No native support]
- Currency Conversion Support [no native support, whole store change its currency to let the customer shop]
- Slow Rest API → Slow average response time... Alternate is WooGraphQL but it has its own set of issues.
- Lack of Customer Support

Things big clients care about:

- Less Dependencies
- Good Customer Support
- Should be easy to maintain
- Fast Development
- Secure & Safe
